Shame About Booty Shorts!

There's this trend: shorts that show the bottom of girls' butts. It's summer; it's exciting to finally show some skin after all those months of conservative winter, but to think that showing too much of your skin is fashion is a mess!

It gives me great grief to see (young) girls and grown women shamelessly flaunting such shorts. I believe they all think it's an honest copy of what everyone is already doing. Fashion and style should not have to supersede morals. Some outfits are in the magazines just for "the looking." Not every runway style has to make it to the streets.

We can all imagine the results of these displays of private, personal skin. The fabric with which these outfits are made might be temptingly beautiful, but unless there's enough of it to cover your behind even when you bend to pick something up, please say "NO" to it. #that'sall

Good Investment or Bad Investment?

Typically, when you are young, you stick with fashion pieces you can afford. College day stories are full of shortcuts: the dresses you wore for one or two occasions 'cos it looked hot... though the quality was so bad it ripped right after etc. The older you get, you take quality more into account. I think your dressing should be indicative of your age and "status" in life. While a school girl, dress like a school girl. When a lady/adult, dress like one.

One of the most disappointing things to me is a lady going to a night event, dressing like a teenager heading to a club. There IS a difference between sexy and skimpy. A sexy look is never too calculated. I digress.

Not only in clothing, but in shoes, when you can afford quality, purchase quality. But how far is too far? How much are you willing to spend on a pair of gorgeous heels? Which of these designer shoes would you purchase?

Miss Nigeria Pageant: Best Dressed!

You've got to LOVE BellaNaija for always bringing you the WHOLE album of photos from these red carpet events in Nigeria (fondly called Naija). I would like to say that I discussed the photos over a glass of wine and grapes with dear friends but it was over garri and okra soup and Skype. :-) Still with a dear friend though. (Garri and soup is a staple in Nigeria whether you are in the eastern part of Nigeria or the West. Western part of Nigeria, that is.)

What will surprise you is that her suit is by Bridget Awosika... Just awesome. Here I was, thinking it was by a foreign designer when I saw "Bridget Awosika." Just awesome, I tell you!!!

When I posted the photo of LV's black dress in my April post (click here), some shunned the dress as too simple and looking like lingerie etc. I saw it as a simple sexy black dress. I know you can't wear it everywhere but it caught my eye. Now, Vicky has been known to rock outfits. She's a style icon. If Vicky rocks something, think twice about downing it.

Today, I'm looking through another blog and what do I see? Vicky B. in the very dress that didn't seem to draw anyone's attention. I totally get her style and I'm sure she'd get mine. ;)

Muna: From Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria to Rapper

Munachi Abii is a Nigerian rapper, entertainer and former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2007. MBGNs often represent Nigeria in Miss World pageants. So, Munachi, fondly and professionally called Muna, represented her country at the Miss World 2007 pageant. Prior to modeling, Muna performed as part of a rap-group. She collaborates with fellow Nigerian entertainers. Personally, I think she is a great rapper. I rarely enjoy rap music from female Nigerian rappers but I love Muna's flow. More recently, she has been seen getting lessons from popular American entertainers including Ludacris and Usher.

You do agree she is gorgeous, yes?
